Meet Your School Counselor – Ms. Patlan
Welcome to the Counseling Corner!
Hello, Lion Families! I’m Ms. Patlan, the school counselor at La Encantada Elementary—where Lions Lead the Way! I’m honored to support our students as they grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Rooted in our core values of R.O.A.R.—Respect, Ownership, Achieve Goals, and Responsibility, my goal is to help every student build confidence, character, and the skills they need to become compassionate, capable leaders.
Role and Focus Areas
· Social-Emotional Learning & Social Skills Groups I lead small groups that focus on social skills development, tailored using data from the Branching Minds surveys to address the specific emotional needs of our students.
· PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) I work closely with staff and students to promote positive behavior and reinforce our school values through PBIS initiatives.
· Capturing Kids’ Hearts I help build strong relationships and a positive school culture by embedding the principles of Capturing Kids’ Hearts into daily interactions with students and staff.
· Individual and Small Group Counseling I provide short-term counseling for students facing challenges, helping them develop healthy coping strategies.
· Crisis Support & Referral When students face urgent issues, I provide immediate support and connect families to community resources as needed.
· Collaboration with Families & Staff I partner with parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure every student receives personalized support for success.
